Bad Apples is a British dark comedy thriller directed by Jonatan Etzler, written by Jess O'Kane and adapted from Rasmus Lindgren's novel De Oönskade. Saoirse Ronan stars as Maria, an idealistic primary school teacher at a ritzy private school whose class is derailed by one foul-mouthed, disruptive pupil, Danny. After a violent altercation forces her hand, Maria makes a series of increasingly questionable decisions — accidentally taking and locking the "bad apple" away — and finds herself trapped between her own choices and a community all too willing to look the other way.
